Research and innovation are fundamental drivers of business growth in Ireland and key to the success of our economy. But taking research developments beyond the lab and out in to the open market requires both support and new skills.
Enterprise Ireland’s Commercialisation Fund has been designed to help you on that journey by providing consultative and financial supports for third level researchers taking technology from the lab to the real world.
The Commericalisation Fund can provide the following supports:
- Support in identifying new needs-led technology solutions
- Support in validating and commercialising your idea
- Development of industry focused research
- Access to Enterprise Ireland’s Mentor Panel
- Access to prospective business parners
- Commercialisation of research support and information sessions
Funding
The Commercialisation Fund is intended to support both proof of concept and ready to develop technology.
Researchers can access two separate levels of sequential funding:

Following feasibility funding, this is intended to de-risk your technology through development for real world application.

Who can apply?
- All researchers including staff on contract in 3rd level research institutions (e.g. post-doctoral scientists)
- Non-profit research performing organisations and agencies in the Republic of Ireland
